The GlobalDiagnostiX project has resulted in the establishment of an alliance of more than 40 researchers, engineers, and specialists, from all fields, under the leadership of EssentialTech program.

GlobalDiagnostiX is an all-in-one system to make digital radiology available worldwide. The main challenge of this project is to develop a high-quality digital x-ray system specifically adapted to low and middle income countries, with a total cost of ownership reduced tenfold. The system has to resist erratic electrical supply, harsh climatic conditions and require very little maintenance during its whole life cycle. Substantially, the system will allow the deployment of advanced features, such tele radiology, remote maintenance and computer aided diagnosis tools.
